KP CLS/MLT Bargaining Update 9/22/25

We’ve Made it Clear – We’re Not Accepting Takeaways in this New Contract

Be prepared – make a plan to join your co-workers on the picket line in your off time!

To be honest, we’re very frustrated with how bargaining is going on our CLS/MLT contract with Kaiser. We’ve been open from the start – we won’t accept any takeaways in our new contract, but Kaiser clearly isn’t hearing us. After bargaining for five months, they’ve now added new proposals that would take away from the current monetary provisions in the contract you are entitled to. We’re not going to let Kaiser bully us and waste our time.

Our brothers, sisters and siblings at UNAC, Steelworkers, Unite Here Local 5, OFNHP, and HNHP voted almost unanimously to strike and send a message to Kaiser, and we’re prepared to do everything we can within our legal rights to stand beside them. Make sure you sign the STRIKE PLEDGE to show your co-workers that we’re united in our commitment to protect and uplift our professions and the patients we serve.

REMINDER: Our CLS/MLT contract does not expire until February 1. So, if a strike is called by the other unions, make a plan to join them on the picket line when you’re off the clock. Non-work time includes your lunch break.

We’re back at the National Bargaining Table next week on September 29 to October 1 to ensure all locals in the Alliance of Healthcare Unions get the fair contract we deserve. Those negotiations are covering big issues we know are important to you – wage increases, contract alignment, wage equity, union input on patient scheduling templates and more. At those negotiations we will also discuss the local CLS/MLT contract and try to resolve these outstanding issues. We’re determining if we need to schedule more bargaining dates locally and will let you know.

In the meantime, it’s important that Kaiser sees our solidarity and strength by taking part in union activities, including:

  • DO NOT participate in Kaiser Permanente’s People Pulse survey. This action is a direct response to stalled progress at the bargaining table and Kaiser’s unwillingness to fully recognize the value of healthcare professionals. No Progress, No Pulse!
