KP CLS/MLT Bargaining Update 8/12/25

Why does Kaiser keep stalling?

We entered into these last two scheduled days with Kaiser to bargain our CLS/MLT contract, prepared to reach a deal that addressed our priority issues – from wages, work-life balance, and more. However, Kaiser spent the first day talking only about one issue – their requested per diem changes. On the second day, they arrived hours later than promised. Why does Kaiser keep stalling?

We have had some productive dialogue on issues like the grievance procedure, vacation payout and Kaiser’s change of the workday, but we are still far apart on important economic issues including longevity, and sixth day pay. We think it’s important to honor workers who dedicate their time to Kaiser and their silence speaks volumes about how they think about us.

We have agreed to meet with the company again on September 2, 3 and 4, 2025, but we don’t want these dates to be wasted. When we reconvene, Kaiser should be prepared to meet with us from the outset and reach a deal that we can confidently recommend to our colleagues.

In the meantime, National Bargaining will occur next week, and the Alliance of Healthcare Unions will be holding three National Bargaining Town Hall calls, where you can hear about the latest developments in negotiations on our national contract.

Don’t forget to join us for the next 2025 National Bargaining Virtual Town Halls, happening Thursday, August 21st at 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM (PT) and Friday, August 22nd at 7:00 AM (PT).

These quick 30-minute sessions are designed to inform and equip CAT members with:
