Tentative Agreement Reached on New Grocery Contract!

We’ve Reached a Tentative Agreement on our Ralphs, Albertsons, Vons and Pavilions Contracts

Agreement addresses priorities: higher wages, better retirement benefit, health and welfare improvements, staffing and more

After five months of hard work and determination, we’re excited to announce that we have reached a tentative agreement with Kroger and Albertsons! From rallies, marches, petitions, and wearing buttons to one-on-one conversations with our co-workers and customers, our strength has been on full display. We’ve shown that when workers come together and rise up, we can fight for a better future for ourselves and our co-workers.

Following an intense 40 plus hour bargaining session that began on Friday morning, we’ve secured an agreement that addresses our priorities. The deal includes the higher wages, improved pension, health and welfare improvements, staffing and more we deserve as the backbone of these companies. But remember, nothing is final until we all have the chance to review the details and cast our vote.

This victory wouldn’t have been possible without the power of our collective action. We stood strong against the companies’ disrespect and made it clear that we were ready to fight for the contract we deserve.

Our solidarity and victory here sends a message to workers everywhere, when we fight together, we win!

Next Steps

Remember, this is a tentative agreement. It is not final until you vote to accept it.

You will have the opportunity to review the deal and have your questions addressed before casting your vote. Zoom meetings to answer questions and share what’s in the tentative agreement are scheduled for Monday, July 7 at 6pm and Tuesday, July 8 at 9am. Email info@ufcw135.com to request the registration link.

Voting will take place electronically using the same app, Election Buddy, that we used for the ULP strike vote. The vote will take place over three days starting on Wednesday, July 9 at 8am and ends at 5pm on Friday, July 11. Reach out if you do not receive your ballot via email or text on July 9.

If you have any questions, contact your Bargaining Committee Member or Union Representative.
