Stater Bros. Boycotts Set to Begin!
We’re done waiting for them to figure out how valuable we are
On Friday we were joined by a federal mediator for the first time since we began bargaining with Stater Bros. nearly five months ago. We had hoped that we would continue making incremental progress, and we even held off on a boycott that day because of that, but there was no movement.
So now we’re refusing to back down in the face of threats from CEO Pete Van Helden himself. Workers in Orange and Los Angeles Counties showed up in force for a rally in Long Beach on Friday and we held three customer engagement actions in San Diego County to protest the numerous unfair labor practices Stater Bros. continues to commit while we try to negotiate a fair contract, and we’re going to turn up the heat.
JOIN US for boycott actions in San Diego County starting Monday, August 4 through Friday August 8 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, where we’ll be boycotting Stater Bros. due to numerous unfair labor practices starting at:
STATER BROS. #163
1674 Main Street, Ramona
We’re asking customers to not shop at any location during the times we’re out front with signs. Other boycott action locations to be shared later.
Talks broke off Friday night, but we’re scheduled to meet with the company on Tuesday, August 5 and Wednesday, August 6. If you have any questions about what’s happening at the table, or any of the upcoming actions, reach out to your Bargaining Committee Member or Union Representative.
In solidarity,
Your Stater Bros Grocery Workers Rising Bargaining Committee
