Some Progress, More Work Ahead
Over the past two days, we met with Ralphs and Albertsons for our third bargaining session.
We had productive discussions on several contract language changes and reached tentative agreements on improvements to the job bidding process, just cause protections related to demotions, and 12-hour holiday pay for pharmacists regularly scheduled for 12-hour shifts.
While this progress is important, significant issues remain unresolved. We are still awaiting responses from Ralphs and Albertsons on key priorities, including wages, benefits, and appropriate staffing levels.
To strengthen our position, member engagement is critical.
What can you do?
- Continue wearing your pharmacist union pin at work.
- Sign the petition when Union Representatives begin circulating it.
The strength of the contract we secure will depend on member involvement. We know many pharmacists are feeling the strain of increased workload and burnout. These negotiations are an opportunity to address those challenges and improve working conditions for pharmacists and patient care alike.
Our next bargaining session is scheduled for March 20, 2026, and will include a federal mediator. We will provide another update following that meeting.
If you have questions about bargaining, please contact your Union Representatives.
In Solidarity,
Your UFCW Local 135 Pharmacist Bargaining Committee
