Rite Aid Bargaining Update 10/21/24

We met with Rite Aid yesterday (10/21/24) with the contract expiring at 5:00 pm. Unfortunately, the company once again failed to show respect for their hardworking employees, with proposals that fall short of what we need and deserve.

Even though the contract has expired, all provisions and protections, including your health insurance, remain in effect while negotiations continue.

While we’ve been at the table trying to reach a deal, Rite Aid has been breaking the law by committing numerous unfair labor practices. They include offering incentives to employees not to sign petitions, bargaining directly with employees, and bypassing the union in an attempt to convince employees to waive the company’s lunch penalty in violation of our contract, unilaterally implementing a bonus in an effort to boost vaccination rate, and refusing to provide information necessary for bargaining.

Their illegal actions make it harder to reach a fair agreement, but we have two more negotiation dates scheduled for November 6 and 7, 2024.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please reach out to your Union Representative.
