KP Rx Bargaining Update #2

Slow but Steady: Kaiser Bargaining Update

What happened during our second bargaining session?

On April 29, we met with Kaiser Permanente for our second day of bargaining on our pharmacy contract. We reached an agreement on using gender-neutral terms in the contract and had productive conversations with the company regarding their interest in the probationary period. We ended the day by presenting a new interest to KP about bridging seniority when returning to previous positions.

The conversations were engaging, and we were able to express areas for potential improvement in our facilities.

We will meet with KP again on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, and will send you another update on the progress made at that time. In the meantime, here are some upcoming activities where you can show KP that we’re united for the contract we deserve:

Attend the rally/picket action on Monday, May 5!
The Alliance will be holding a kickoff rally and picket action in Harbor City at 5 PM on May 5, the day before bargaining on our national contract starts. A large turnout at this event will make it clear to Kaiser that we’re ready for a strong contract. RSVP for the rally/picket action here: https://www.addevent.com/event/so25393958

Fill out and take a picture with our bargaining poster!
Throughout the first national bargaining session from May 6 to May 8, we’ll be passing out posters for you to write what you’re fighting for and take pictures with. Contact your union representative to get one.

Join our National Bargaining Town Hall Calls!
At 6 PM on May 8 and 7 AM on May 9, we’ll be holding a town hall call so you can hear what happened during the first national bargaining session. Mark your calendar now and keep an eye out for the information to join this important call. Calls like this are a key way to stay involved in bargaining.

Become a member of the Contract Action Team!
The Contract Action Team is critical to bargaining and to ensuring your co-workers know what’s going on. Commit to informing colleagues, sharing bargaining updates, gathering feedback, and mobilizing your co-workers to support all efforts to win a fair contract.

If you have any questions about bargaining or if there is anything else we can do to support you, please do not hesitate to contact your Union Representative.

In Solidarity,

Your UFCW-KP Bargaining Committee
