KP Bargaining Update 10/31/25

Kaiser Bargaining Remains Difficult

SoCal UFCW Remains United in Push for Contract We Deserve

This week and last week’s negotiations with Kaiser were difficult, with little progress at the National bargaining table. We did achieve a minor TA on language around lactation time, but Kaiser hasn’t moved on their economic proposals – and neither did we. Despite Kaiser’s stalling tactics, we remain united in our push for contract alignment, fair wage increases, pay equity, and a voice in staffing. Our goal is to get a contract we can recommend to you, and we’re coming back to the table for National Bargaining next Tuesday, November 4, to push for that.

In the meantime, the Labor Management Partnership (LMP) is still on hold. Do not participate in any LMP related activities until further notice.

Pharmacy ULP Strike Update

Striking is always our last resort, but pharmacy members must remain strike-ready in response to Kaiser’s Unfair Labor Practices. If the Bargaining Committee decides it’s time to issue our 10-day ULP strike notice, you will be notified by your UFCW Local.

Our vote has prepared Kaiser Pharmacy members to take action when the Pharmacy contract expires tomorrow, November 1. It does not mean we are on an Unfair Labor Practice strike right now. If you walk off the job before the union declares a strike, you can be disciplined and/or fired. REMEMBER: your local is the best source of information, and you’ll hear ANY news from us first.

CLS members – since your contract doesn’t expire until next year, you can’t strike at this time, but you can support Alliance siblings as well as your UFCW siblings should they be forced to strike. This misalignment in expiration dates is one of our key priorities in these negotiations as aligning our contracts strengthens our collective voice and ensures we can stand together in true unity.
