We’re pleased to announce that the new three‑year agreements covering Ralphs and Albertsons/Vons/Pavilions have been ratified by UFCW members in San Diego County and across Southern California. 81% of voting members at Ralphs in San Diego voted to approve the agreement and 85% at Albertsons, and 83% at Vons/Pavilions.
Thank you to everyone who reviewed the terms, asked questions and took the time to vote.
Key improvements include:
- Substantial wage increases
- A new supplemental pension plan to strengthen retirement security
- Higher employer contributions to health benefits and faster eligibility for new hires
- Staffing language that gives the union a formal role in evaluating safe and efficient staffing levels
“I’m proud of our bargaining committee and all of our members for the steady work it took to reach these agreements,” said UFCW Local 135 President Todd Walters. “Throughout a long bargaining process, members stayed engaged and made their priorities clear, and that led to real gains in these contracts.”
