Grocery Bargaining Update #6

$2.50 Falls Far Short
The company’s wage proposal does not reflect our value

After nearly two months of negotiations with no wage proposal, the companies finally put one forward today—and it falls far short of recognizing our contributions.

Under their proposal:

  • If you’re not at the top rate, you receive no raise
  • If you are at the top rate, they are proposing $2.50 over three years

This offer does not keep pace with inflation, let alone reflect the rising cost of living or our role in their continued success.

We made it clear at the bargaining table—we expect a fair and competitive wage increase that truly values the hard work we put in every day.

Bargaining continues tomorrow, and we’ll have another update for you then. Share this update with your co-workers and keep wearing your buttons in the stores to show Kroger and Albertsons that we are united in the fight for a contract that meets our needs.

In solidarity,

Your UFCW Local 135 Grocery Workers Rising Bargaining Committee
