Attention Food4Less members:
During our most recent contract negotiations with Food4Less, Southern California UFCW Locals – including UFCW Local 135 – bargained a provision in your contract that would provide a higher wage increase to members at the Thereafter/Experienced Rate if our members at Ralphs received a higher wage increase than you.
The provision says:
“In the event Ralphs Grocery Company (Ralphs) and the Locals reach a recommended MOA and Ralphs agrees to a rate increase for 2022 and 2023 that is greater than $0.55, Food 4 Less will increase its 2022 and 2023 rate increase to match the Ralphs rate increase. If the Ralphs 2022 increase is effective after June 5, 2022, the Food 4 Less increase will be effective the date the Ralphs Memorandum of Agreement is ratified if we negotiated a better wage deal with Ralphs.”
Due to this provision, Food4Less members at the Thereafter/Experienced Rate of pay in all classifications, except Utility Clerk, will receive a $2.00 an hour wage increases on June 5 of this year and a $1.00 an hour wage increases on June 4, 2023.
To sum it up, instead of receiving $0.55 raises this year and $0.55 next year, those that qualify will receive $2.00 an hour raises this year and $1.00 an hour next year.
Your Union continues to fight for you and is proud of this huge victory for the workers at Food4Less!
