ULP Strike Authorization Approved!

You Voted. You Spoke. Over 90% Said YES to Strike Authorization.

We’re proud to share that over 90% of voting members at Ralphs, Albertsons, Vons, and Pavilions stores across San Diego County have authorized a ULP strike if necessary. Thousands of you cast your votes between June 8–11, and the message couldn’t be clearer:

We’re united. We’re fed up. And we’re ready to fight for what we deserve.

This vote comes after months of frustration at the bargaining table. Instead of engaging in meaningful negotiations, Kroger and Albertsons have responded with unfair labor practices—including surveillance, intimidation, and retaliation against members like you who are standing up and speaking out.

“This strike authorization is not just a vote—it’s a mandate,” said Local 135 President Todd Walters. “We will not be pushed around or silenced. This vote shows that we are strong, united, and ready to do whatever it takes to win the fair contract you deserve.”

Your Grocery Workers Rising Bargaining Committee has met with the companies 18 times since February, and we’ve made every effort to move the process forward. But the companies continue to delay and avoid serious conversations about staffing, wages, and equity.

“I’ve been in every bargaining session,” said Cammy Fulton, Ralphs worker and bargaining team member. “The companies aren’t taking us seriously. But this vote proves that we’re serious—and we’re not backing down.”

We’re standing together with over 45,000 UFCW grocery members across Southern California who are rising up for dignity, respect, and a strong contract. The final scheduled bargaining sessions are set for June 25–27.

We’re not on strike but be prepared to go out if the bargaining committee decides it is time!

Until then, stay strong, stay engaged, and keep showing your union pride in the stores.
Your voice matters. Your vote matters. And together—we will win.
