As we gather for the Thanksgiving holiday, I want to share my heartfelt gratitude for each and every one of you. This season reminds us to appreciate the people who make a real difference in our lives and communities, and that includes the hardworking members of this union.
I know that many of you will be working on Thanksgiving Day or have spent the past week or so preparing your stores, pharmacies, clinics, and workplaces for the holidays. While others are enjoying time at home, you are the ones keeping our communities fed, supported, and cared for. Some of you won’t get the chance to fully enjoy the holiday yourselves, and I want you to know how deeply we appreciate your sacrifice and dedication.
Because of your commitment, UFCW Local 135 stands strong as the leading voice for working people in San Diego County. Whether you’re helping families prepare their holiday meals, caring for patients, supporting cannabis consumers, or keeping essential services running, your work matters, especially during this time of year.
Thank you for everything you do, for your solidarity, and for believing in the power of this union. It is an honor to serve as your president, and I am truly grateful for the strength you bring to our union family every day.
