New Stiiizy Contract Ratified

STIIIZY Cannabis Workers Ratify Groundbreaking Contract With Industry-Leading Wages

Cannabis workers at STIIIZY have overwhelmingly ratified a landmark three-year union contract, setting a new standard for wages and benefits in the industry. The agreement, reached through the collaboration of six UFCW local unions across California — including UFCW Locals 5, 135, 324, 770, 1167, and 1428 — covers approximately 500 workers statewide.

Voting took place from April 7–10, 2025, and the contract will remain in effect through January 24, 2028.

Among the major wins in the new agreement:

  • Highest union starting wages in the industry: $19.50/hour in Southern California and $20.50/hour in the Bay Area
  • Expanded paid sick leave, now at 64 hours annually in Southern California
  • Guaranteed health insurance for part-time workers at just 20 hours per week
  • Stronger job security and more equitable attendance policies
  • A formal partnership between the union and company to shape cannabis policy and regulations statewide

“This agreement is a major step forward not just for our members at STIIIZY, but for cannabis workers across the state,” said UFCW Local 135 Secretary-Treasurer Grant Tom. “It proves what’s possible when workers stand together for better wages, stronger protections, and a voice in shaping the future of this industry.”

The new contract marks a significant milestone in UFCW’s ongoing efforts to raise standards in the rapidly growing cannabis sector.
