The San Diego & Imperial Counties Labor Council is collecting new, unwrapped toys (please no toy weapons) for the children of union workers who are having difficult financial times this holiday season.
Toys can be dropped off at both UFCW Local 135 offices during regular business hours through December 6 with the giveaway event on December 8 in San Diego and December 10 in Imperial County.
Toys will also be collected Saturday, December 3 from 10am until 1pm at the Labor Council’s annual Toy Drop Off at the National City Rail Depot at 922 W. 23rd St.
Santa Claus will be present for photo opportunities, National City and Chula Vista firefighters will roll up in their rigs, and some local lowriders will have their vehicles on display in support of the event.
