In Memory of Union Sister Andrea Zinder

UFCW Local 135 joins the entire labor movement in mourning the loss of our union sister, Andrea Zinder, President of UFCW Local 324, who passed away unexpectedly on September 27, 2025.

Andrea was a compassionate and fierce labor leader whose life was dedicated to improving the lives of working people. From her early career at the National Labor Relations Board, where she fought against unfair labor practices, to her decades of leadership within UFCW, Andrea was unwavering in her commitment to justice and fairness for all workers.

In her years at Local 324, Andrea served as chief negotiator, Secretary-Treasurer, and ultimately President. She also led as President of the UFCW Western States Council and served on numerous boards and trusts, always centering the needs of working families in her decisions. Under her leadership, members secured historic gains across industries including grocery, healthcare, retail, cannabis, and beyond.

Andrea was more than a leader; she was a fighter who always stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the members she represented. She was often the first person on a strike line and the last to leave the bargaining table, never wavering in her belief that when workers rise together, they win together.

Her loss will be deeply felt, not just within UFCW, but across the labor movement. Andrea’s legacy of courage, solidarity, and compassion will continue to inspire us all as we carry forward the work she dedicated her life to.

In solidarity, she found strength. In her memory, we continue the fight.

UFCW Local 135 extends our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and the members of UFCW Local 324. May we honor her memory by continuing the fight for dignity, respect, and fairness for all workers.
