UFCW Local 135 would like to congratulate the cannabis workers at March and Ash’s flagship Mission Valley location on their decision to join the union!
On the heels of last month’s announcement that employees at March and Ash in Vista, City Heights, and Imperial chose to go union and voted on their first contract, enough workers in Mission Valley signed authorization cards to bring themselves into the bargaining unit.
Special thanks to County Board of Supervisors Chair Nathan Fletcher for taking the time to verify and validate that UFCW Local 135 attained the over 50% threshold of cards needed for the location to go union.
With four locations now under UFCW Local 135 jurisdiction, and two more on the horizon in the South Bay, the current March and Ash bargaining unit comprises approximately 250 members.
UFCW Local 135 has worked steadfastly on behalf of the workers and alongside the owners of March and Ash to provide their employees with a contract that sets the standard in the cannabis industry, including higher wages, paid vacations, a child-care and education fund, and an equity fund (in lieu of a 401k due to current Federal banking limitations).
We thank our new members at March and Ash Mission Valley for their trust and look forward to servicing their needs and fulfilling the rights in their contract.
Once again, congratulations and welcome to our union family!
