Stop The Home Depot at SD Planning Commission!

WRONG SIZE! WRONG LOCATION!

STOP THE HOME DEPOT!

THE HOME DEPOT wants to construct a 275,000 sq/ft building, garden center and tri level parking structure next door to UFCW Local 135 on Camino Del Rio South.

The resulting massive increase in traffic, including semi-trucks and heavy vehicles servicing THE HOME DEPOT, on this narrow two-lane road is detrimental to all who work, worship, and conduct business on Camino Del Rio South from Texas Street to Mission Center Road. With no room to widen the roadway or plans to mitigate the increased influx of vehicles, the results will be a dangerous traffic nightmare.

Thousands of union members and retirees, churchgoers and school children, and employees and visitors that work and patronize the businesses and organizations that utilize Camino Del Rio South will be adversely impacted by the construction, and especially, the daily operation of THE HOME DEPOT.

We call on the SD Planning Commissioners, Mission Valley stakeholders, our union members and retirees, our labor siblings at other San Diego unions, and our community allies to join us in helping stop this enormous project!
