Secretary-Treasurer's Report

By | FOOD 4 LESS, Secretary-Treasurer's Report

RICHARD BARRERA Secretary-Treasurer Food 4 Less should not mean Work 4 Less Our contract with Food 4 Less expired in early June, and we at Local 135 have been at the bargaining table for a couple of months with the Kroger Company negotiating a new contract. In some ways, the issues facing our members at Food 4 Less are very similar to the issues facing all of our members. Food 4 Less members struggle to make ends meet because wages…

07/15/2017 – CVS Negotiations Update

By | Breaking News, Negotiations Updates

CVS negotiations continued on 7/13 and 7/14 with no real progress to report.  Another bargaining session is scheduled for 7/18. CVS members are proudly wearing their union buttons and will continue to stand together until CVS gets serious and demonstrates that they value their employees with a fair contract offer.  Other actions at the stores may be necessary following the 7/18 bargaining session, if there is not significant progress. We have several additional bargaining sessions scheduled during May and June. We have made it clear that you will not accept take…

The fight continues for Albertsons, Ralphs and Vons pharmacists. Bargaining resumed on August 22. Throughout these negotiations your Union has maintained our goals of adequate staffing in the pharmacies, competitive wages for pharmacists and PICs and maintenance of medical and pension benefits. Unfortunately, management does not share our concerns regarding adequate staffing and claim that the pharmacies are not that busy and therefore it is not necessary to have more techs or pharmacy clerks available to assist the pharmacists. We…
